2021 -- It was great fun to participate in two projects headed by Professor Sam Norgard at the Savannah College of Art & Design. One is the Black and White Together Project. Artists from around the world submitted bead woven black and white warped squares which are being put together to form a portrait of the artist Joyce Scott. For information on this project please see Black + White Together Project - Norgard Designs.
The second project is the All Colors Project. Here again, artists throughout the globe participated by contributing bead woven flowers in various colors which will be part of a sizeable installation. The working title so far is 'Flower Power'. For information on this project please see All Colors - Norgard Designs.
2020 -- More than 500 artists submitted 6-inch square works to be displayed at the Museum of Beadwork in Portland, Maine for their Beaded Square Project. My contribution was entitled 'Cubic Dance' and will be part of this exhibit. For information please see Beaded Square Project - Museum of Beadwork.
2018 -- A promotional film was done to showcase jewelry that was commissioned by John Bead from artists throughout the world. The film is called 'Betsy - Queen of Beads', and Lakshmi's necklace and bracelet were featured, worn by Betsy John. Ms. John and her husband, Fritz, are co-founders of John Bead Corp. For more information please go to Betsy - Queen of Beads - John Bead.
2017 -- John Bead Corp. chose several designers from various countries to create special pieces for an after-party fashion show to follow The Association of Creative Industries trade show in Phoenix, Arizona. 'Lakshmi's Necklace and Bracelet' were introduced by master-of-ceremonies Valerie Mayen (of Project Runway), and it was a thrill to see the model come
down the catwalk. My work was also displayed at the Creative World Show in Frankfurt, Germany that same year.
Lakshmi's necklace and bracelet are now on display at John Bead Corporate Headquarters in Toronto, Canada.
2016 -- I was commissioned by John Bead Corp. to make several pieces that were pictured throughout their Bead Catalogs to the trade.
2015 -- John Bead commissioned me to write a booklet with some of my original designs which were inspired by the works of Roy Lichtenstein. Rings by Giovanna was introduced at the Craft & Hobby Association tradeshow in Anaheim, California.
